hoopla digital brings the #1 NYT bestselling Love is Love anthology to library patrons
Patrons of participating libraries can now access the hard-to-find title on hoopla’s service, the proceeds of which will be donated to Equality Florida to benefit victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting.
HOLLAND, OH. (Feb. 16, 2017) – hoopla digital, the category-creating mobile and online service for libraries, added the bestselling Love is Love anthology graphic novel to its collection – becoming the first digital service to make the work available to library patrons. Love is Love is a collection of over 100 short graphic stories that have been written and designed by more than 200 comics-industry-leading writers and artists – as well as celebrities from across popular culture – in response to the devastating Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida in June 2016. Since debuting in comic-book shops and bookstores in December, the highly-publicized title has shot to the top of bestseller lists and has sold out its first three printings.
With a valid library card, patrons can use hoopla digital’s app or website to instantly stream or download this bestselling anthology – as well as over 600,000 eBooks, audiobooks, comics, albums, and movies. The proceeds from each borrow of Love is Love will be donated to Equality Florida, a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to securing justice and equality for Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.
Honored to support Love is Love’s cause, hoopla digital's founder Jeff Jankowski stated that “When I first heard about Love is Love, there was no question that we wanted to bring this incredible anthology to our collection and to support this cause. We’re honored to offer this historic work that represents a powerful message of love and support for the LGBTQ+ community.”
Furthermore, making Love is Love more accessible to the general public is also important to hoopla digital’s partner, the anthology’s publisher, IDW Publishing. As Rebekah Cahalin, the Digital Publishing Director of IDW Publishing, stated, “This project is rooted in community and in artistic support of the LGBTQ+ community. Now, with the participation of hoopla digital, library patrons in the U.S. and Canada can access and appreciate the work and talent that has gone into the Love is Love anthology and help benefit those affected by the tragedy.”
